Why do you say that why can't it be a seed?

I think they are bugs and they live on the tree and leaves.

Thank you for posting a response. What is a jumping oak gall I can't find it. Before you do research read some of the other responses.

I also believe that they are insects. Maybe they are trying to that's why they are hopping around to brake their outer shell. I think that this is a very interesting discovery and I hope we can figure it out!

Shyla great response I love that you gave a reason why they move, great job.

I agree with you Shyla! I too think that theyre "jumping" to try to get out of the egg.

I also think that there insects inside the oak seeds. Probably larva that are ready to hatch from the shells, which is why they are jumping around.

I noticed some of those "mystery seeds" were attached to some of the leaves that fell from the tree. I feel like its some type insect eggs that lived on those leaves or maybe a jumping bean

Can you identify the type of "bug" and maybe its life cycle get some clues by reading some of the other comments

I think it's a moth larva and its jumping to get out of its shell

I think it's related to the jumping bean

Carter why do you think that and how is it related? Make sure you leave detailed posts focusing on the why and how.

It is a bug off the that grows on the tree

i think they go from the order of vascular tissue, seeds, and then flower. i think this because before it its a seed it has to be something else right? and of course before its a flower it has to be a seed

I agree with you on the vascular tissue, but I believe that the flower evolved before the seeds. Because the seeds are made inside the flower in the ovaries.

I believe that they evolved starting with the vascular tissue, because the vascular plants were the first to evolve and needed the vascular tissue to beable to survive. Then I believe that it was the flower. The flower is what makes the seeds, so you cannot have the seeds without the flower. Then finally the seeds evolved. (vascular tissue, flower, seeds.)

maybe the seeds arent apart of the tree of a bug it could be something totally different

the seeds are just bouncing off the ground, because they are coming from a higher elevation

the little things are either larva, seeds, or nothing to do with it at all

I think they are seeds that jump because of the elements

the seeds are planted then it becomes stems and starts to grow little leaves then it becomes the whole thing

1. Seed, you need a seed to begin the process. 2. Vascular tissue, after the seed has been planted and nourished it begins to grow into a plant and forms vascular tissue. 3. Flower, after the plant begins to grow it can form a flower

1.Seed: The seed contains the plant embryo after it has been fertilized.

The plant features evolved in the order of: 1)seed- the seed is the original state of the plant, and where the growth begins. 2)vascular tissue- this is what carries food and throughout the plant to keep it living and healthy. 3)flower- once the plant is grown,it can produce a flower to make more seeds and pollen for future plants.

I think that the order is vascular tissue seeds and then flower because the notes said vascular tissue has been around for a long time. Then seeds are next because you would need a seed in order for a flower to be there.

its like a cycle seed growths and then it starts to eat of whats inside and then keeps jumping until its broken then it happens again.

I think that the order is vascular tissue, seeds and then flower. The vascular tissue evolves into a seed and then the seed flourishes into a flower. The vascular tissue is what carries water and nutrition to the plant. The seed has the embryo. The flower can produce pollen and feed many insects.

The order goes from seed, vascular tissue and last flower. The seed is able to produce that thick vascular tissue to help support the plant. Then it blooms into the flower state.

Those insects used the oak tree leaves as a nesting area for its surface. They lay the larva's and my guess is they use that "egg" like thing to protect the larva. Once they hatch, they try to break free maybe that's why they keep jumping around.
