"We depend on dirt to purify and heal the system that sustains us." I think this statement means that dirt is a big part of our world and if we didn't have dirt then there would be many problems.

I thought it was crazy that in the last 100 years we've lost 1/3 of the earth's top soil. If this really happened what do we think will happen in the next 100years.

Anything can happen in the next 100 years, from the soil replenishing or the soils becoming completely useless due to over use around the world. Which would cause the world to fall into another Dust Bowl

"Dirt might be more alive than we are". What he means here is that even in a small handful of fertile soil there are more living organisms than there are people in the world. The soil is also super diverse in the types of life forms in it.

I completely agree with you. It's baffling, to me that there are so many other life forms that are living all around us, even though we cannot see them.

" Rainforrests are being cut down for the expansion of soil" I believe this because of the human conflicts that revolve around the world over fertil soil

More than the human conflicts, i think this is because of the growing need for fertile lands.

We rely on dirt more than we think. It gives us the oppurtunity to grow our own food. "Dirt might be more alive than we are" is a great impact to a human knowing that what is right beneath our feet could have more life than us.

A handful of soil has tens of thousands of micro organisms in it. People are saying soil is worth more than people use it for. They said in the video they use soil to build in Middle East countries and that they say it's more alive than humans. Some people are destroying soil, but some are trying to use it for good purposes

"Dirt may be more alive than we are" I believe this is true because there is a lot of bacteria and other sorts of life in soils and even if it not more alive than we are, dirt is very much alive

I feel like not enough people realize just how important soil is for us to live. Like Estephany commented above; if we have lost 1/3 of the Earth's top soil in the last hundred years imagine what will happen in the next hundred. We need to appreciate the soil more and give back all that we take away from it.

We depend on dirt, without dirt there would not be crops. The entire Brazilian rainforest is being tore down to have moredirt to use for crops and other things. Dirt is important try to preserve the dirt for future generations

Dirt is resource we depend on to help our crops grow. If we didnt have it we wouldnt have most of our food. The dirt will be here forever and will continue to be used throughout the generations.

It's mainly saying that dirt is something we all rely on to grow crops and dirt will be here for years and will continue to have a use.

Over time, humans have learned many techniques to properly conserve our environment. But it did take us a while to realize just how harsh we were treating our planet. There's still so much we could all do to help out
